"Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. " -Helen Keller

SHOW AND TELL: Joey's Belt Test

Joey has been taking Tae Kwon Do since he was about 4 yrs old. Unlike his big brother who has decided TKD isn't for him anymore, Joey loves it. Yesterday, he tested for his brown belt. At his studio, K.S. Lee's Best Martial Arts, a brown belt is only two belts below deputy black belt. Joey did a great job and he actually broke his board into 3 pieces when he kicked it. On Monday night, he will be awarded his brown belt.

If you want to see what everyone else in the class is showing, go visit Miss Lollipop and check out the Show and Tell post.

I'm seeing the splintered board and thinking, "I will never mess with that kid."

Way to go Joey!!! I can't wait to show my daughter the pictures. Do you all have a stack of broken boards hanging around your house? She won't let me throw any of hers away.... I'm thinking they'd make a GREAT bonfire!

That's great he's earned his brown belt! My boss is an instructor and often talks about the classes/kids.

Thanks for your suggestion about my drapes. I agree it looks off-center with the bed. Moving the bed is out of the question... there wouldn't be enough room to walk around it. Still contemplating centering the drapes... the only prob with that is during the daytime, light would shine through the curtains where the window is, and not where the wall is that'd be covered (obviously, lol). *sigh*

He looks seriously intimidating in that second photo. Like he just took out a huge grown up. Woo hoo!
