"Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. " -Helen Keller

Blogging Without Makeup Day

I heard about this when I was checking out things on Facebook. The brilliant Mel had a blurb up about her Blogging-Without-Makeup-Day post over at Blogher. This was the brain child of Jodie over at Mummy Mayhem and it was her idea to show the world our real, unretouched (I swear it's a word, really) face. I figured what the hell. After all, a bare face is nothing new for me. While I have it in me to be a girly girl, I usually worry about my hair and not much else. If you decide to join in, head on over to Mummy Mayhem and add your post to the Linky thing.

So, here I am in all my non-makeup glory...Hope the lack of makeup doesn't scare any of you off. Now, come on and join the few, the proud, the barefaced bloggers.

I realized today that I've only posted a handful of pictures of myself with makeup--that most (including all my profile pics) have been makeup free. So I am with you in solidarity.

And I love your real, unretouched face.

So, confession... I pretty much never wear make-up. Like, ever. Only if I get really bored and feel like sprucing myself up... so once a month. lol

Pretty much every picture of me is make-up free.

Great pic, you look lovely :)

I wear makeup to work usually but otherwise don't often bother. I haven't worn make up right now in close to a month. It's been kind of nice. My face book pic is without makeup.

Awesome pic.

Well, I used a picture of me and the babe on her birth announcement where I'm not wearing makeup. Everyone seems to love it. Do some women really put on makeup in the hospital the day after giving birth?

I went through a phase after hubbys dx where I dressed up a lot, makeup and all. I think it was a way of being womanly after feeling I had lost that one part of me that makes me a woman. Anywho, since I've been on leave I have been makeup free and back to my usual hippy self. I will have to post this at some point, but I'm starting to have a hard time keeping up with all the themes!!! And rock on wit your bad self and being barefaced and beautiful!

Love this photo. I also LOVELOVELOVE your hair. If I was with you in person I would really have to restrain myself from touching it all the time. :)
