"Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. " -Helen Keller

Can y'all pray for my friend?

A close friend of my family (hehe, another one of the strays my parents "adopted") was attacked and injured yesterday. She works in Raleigh and had just left work to go home. She pulled into the gas station at the local Wal-Mart to fill up because she had a 1 hr commute home. Her car window was down while she was waiting to pull up to the gas pump. While she was waiting, this huge man (over 6 ft tall) came up top her window and said, "I'm going to give you what you deserve bitch" and then slammed his fist into her face about 6 times. The whole time he was hitting her, Michelle was trying to get her car in gear. As fast as it started, he stopped and headed towards his truck which was right by her car. Michelle was afraid he was going to get a gun so she jammed the car into gear and hit him (YAY). The asshat jumped into his truck and took off. The whole attack was caught on video and, despite the pain she was in, she had the presence of mind to get his license plate nu,mber. She was taken to the hospital and they arrested the bastard who hurt her last night. Michelle is going to have surgery today because the attack left her with a jaw broken in two and one half was shove back out of place. At this point, the police are chalking the attack up to road rage because Michelle has never met the attacking bastard before in her life.

Luckily, my sister was able to take care of Michelle's daughter last night but that did mean she had to break the news to her this morning. Please say a prayer for both of them.

Oh my gosh, Kristin. I'm glad she had her wits about her to get the details to catch him. I'll definitely keep her in my prayers. How awful. :(
