"Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. " -Helen Keller

Frustrated, Frazzled, Flustered...

rustrated, frazzled, flustered, fraying at t he edges...all those words describe me right now. I recently had to wipe the hard drive on my beloved laptop and reload EVERYTHING from the operating system on up. She had been working fabulously (another f word). In fact, she was running better than she had since I inherited her from my mom. I was so happy with my laptop. I am not so happy now.

Being good, responsible computer owners, we always make sure to run regular windows updates and we always inoculate our 'puters against the latest viruses. When I went to bed last night, the laptop lovely was running beautifully. Then, my husband got home and downloaded the windows updates and updated the virus protection and, for some reason, this pissed off Madame Laptop. She pitched a bitch fit this morning and was having a myriad of issues from not letting me click on the Facebook like button to not loading all the pictures on my blog to refusing to load the post editor properly.

We tried everything including going back to a restore point from earlier this week. Nothing worked. It makes no sense whatsoever that a simple windows update would fuck my computer up so horribly but that's what happened. At this point, the only solution is to wipe her once again.

Maybe the fact that another piece of electronic equipment is giving me such a hard time means that my camera is going to come out of hiding...surely that's not too much to ask!

What F word (heheheheheh, I said F word), describes your mindset today?

I went back to 'A' and read them all this morning.I wish I had seen this and joined it, it sound fun. Fun is an 'f' word. Your son's migrane sounds horrible! I hope he gets relief soon, constant pain is so wearing - on everyone.
Hi Kristin,
congrats on the bravery. I dodged the issue and asked for a G word on my wall as I expect you noticed. Thanks for dropping by and Im fascinated by the Book Challenge. Great idea and can people still sign up?
So sympathize on your F feelings--my laptop has decided to ignore my keyboard for the time being. Yep, frustrating and I.m Fed-up. lol
annie

great idea
I am F****in' Frazzled as well today. I have yet another sick child. Every week without fail since the end of January. I am thankful she spiked a temp Friday evening, so I didn't miss any work, but woke up this AM with baby wheezing up a storm.

I think we both need to get a VooDoo priestess in to take off the curse!
Geez, Kristin. You have not had much luck in the computer department recently. I would be foaming at the mouth by now. (Foaming - F word).

Today, I am feeling fortunate for my family.
And today - regardless of what letter it is in A-Z challenge I hear the angels singing. It's a beautiful, sunny day here in New York and spring is here - everything is busting with new life, beauty and peace
And today - regardless of what letter it is in A-Z challenge I hear the angels singing. It's a beautiful crisp, sunny day we've been given. This from an old wrinkled gray haired lady ... mother of 8 kids and grandma of 18 - You guys are having the best years of your lives - l sick kids, computer frazzle, take each joy and sorrow with enthusiasm and thanks. You'll look back if you're lucky enough to get old!
I'd love to have you all check out my blog. I'm afraid I empty my heart and soul because no matter whether the pasts are upbeat or down in the dumps - they are life and so very beautiful!

Oh, I hate that :( Hope it stops giving you such issues.

Umm... no F word for me today. I'm T for tired ;)
Fatigued... we have been cleaning up a storm around the hobbit hole for the last two days (and still have more to do.. blech!). Not how I wanted to spend my Easter weekend.
Frazzled but also fortunate.
I am so sorry you have had to deal with all that with your computer! (((HUGS))) I love Rhia's words and will echo them. Today I do feel somewhat frazzled (it's been a Manic Monday Morning here in Chicago) and I also feel fortunate (we had a wonderful weekend celebrating Easter with our family and friends). Hope things got better for you after Friday and that you have a fantastic day and week! :)
you poor thing. my F word today would be THE f-word - screamed really loudly and out of frustration. So there are two F's I suppose. I am sorry. Laptop troubles are THE WORST. It's like betrayal when our beloved hard drives crash on us.

Oh and for the record, my F word for you is FABULOUS
Been there, done that. Same thing happened to the BF's laptop. I wonder if at a certain age, laptops just can't handle the newer updates.
