"Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. " -Helen Keller

C is for Cookie

Now what starts with the letter "C"?
"Cookie" starts with "C"!
Let's think of other things that starts with "C"!
Uh. . .Uh. . . Who cares about da other things?!

"C" is for Cookie that's good enough for me,
"C" is for cookie that's good enough for me,
"C" is for cookie that's good enough for me,
Oh! cookie, cookie, cookie starts with "C"!

Chocolate Chip Crunch Cookies - by Joanne Fluke
found in her book Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder

1 cup butter (2 sticks melted)
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla
2 beaten eggs (beat with fork)
2 1/2 cups flour (not sifted)
2 cups crushed corn flakes(crush them with your hands)
1 - 2 cups chocolate chips

Hey, You know what? A round cookie with one bite out of it looks like a "C"
A round donut with one bite out of it also looks like a "C" but it is not as good as a cookie
Oh, and the moon sometimes looks like a "C" but you can't eat that
So...
Preheat oven 375 degrees. Rack in the middle position.
Melt butter, add the sugars and stir. Add soda, salt, vanilla, and beaten eggs. Mix well. Then add flour and stir it in. Add crushed corn flakes and chocolate chips and mix it all thoroughly.
Form dough into walnut-sized balls with your fingers and place on a greased cookie sheet, 12 to a standard sheet. Press down slightly with a floured or greased spatula.
Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool on a cookie sheet for 2 minutes, then remove to a wire rack until they’re completely cool. (The rack is important – it makes them crisp.)
Yield: 6 to 8 dozen, depending on cookies size.
Hannah’s Note: If these cookies spread out too much in the oven, reduce temperature to 350 degrees and do not flatten before baking.

Well, Any chocolate cookies are my favourite...just no mint and no coconut with it....

:-)
Ahahaha! K loves that video clip of Cookie Monster. :) And yep, I have a recipe for basic cookie dough you can add anything to. It's very similar to yours actually. But if I post it, my mom might kill me. <G>
Mmmmm... chocolate chip cookies! I like the addition of the crushed corn flakes.

I really love these cookies... http://allrecipes.com/recipe/ricotta-cookies-ii/d...

They are incredibly light and yummy, and you can change up the glaze (I like them with a cinnamon sugar glaze)
My all time favorites are "Cookies as big as your head," posted here: http://ahalfbakedlife.blogspot.com/2010/10/cookie... ... but I love chocolate chips, too. And I have a "compost cookie" recipe at my blog that is pretty damn amazing. Um, yeah, I might have a problem. ;)
I love chocolate chip cookies! And we have a running debate in my family regarding the melted vs softened butter...

My favorite recipe is about the same as yours, except that you use 1.5 c of flour and 3 c of instant oatmeal instead of the flour and corn flakes. Oh, and 1 tsp of baking soda - that might be important.
choc chip cookies are my fave! thanks for recipe!
Mmm, cookies. I'd make these, but I'm watching my calories. Sigh. Maybe someday when I have enough extra calories to munch on them, lol.
Oh my. This post makes me so happy. Guess who's making cookies tonight....
