"Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. " -Helen Keller

November...

Well fuck me, it really is November. There are a ton of important things going on and lots of important stuff to remember this month. I think I will summarize it in list form for y'all.
  1. Counting today, there are 54 shopping days until Christmas. Yes, 54...only 54...how many of you have realized you are officially screwed and running out of time? Join me with an Amen sista!
  2. I celebrate my 15th wedding anniversary this month. 15 years ago on the 21st of this month I married the love of my life in a lovely little civil ceremony.
  3. I celebrate my 14th wedding anniversary this month. Wait a sec, I can see some of you looking confuzzled and scratching your heads thinking, "Didn't she just say it was the 15th anniversary?" Well, yes, it's both. See, 15 years ago we had a civil ceremony and, the following year on November 11th, we renewed our vows in a religious ceremony. Hehehe, I let my hubby think we did it that way because of money but I really did it that way so I could spend 10 days celebrating every November.
  4. Joey's 9th birthday is on November 15th.
  5. Finally and most importantly, November is Prematurity Awareness Month. The March of Dimes is sponsoring the Bloggers Unite Fight For Preemies on November 17th. Thanks to Aunt Becky letting me know about this, I signed up to join this very important event. Sign up and help educate people about the devastating effects of prematurity and what we can do to help fight it. Go ahead and sign up. You know you want to hang out with all the cool kids. While you are there, check out the cool buttons they have for you to put on your blog for this month. Join the fight for these precious little ones so someday these babies don't have to fight anymore.
  6. It was pointed out that I didn't even mention Thanksgiving. I think that was a subconscious effort on my part to lessen the insanity of this month...LOL.
Hasta la bye-bye folks. It's about time to kick into holiday panic mode.

I've been holiday shopping since June b/c I knew I wouldn't want to do it later (like now) and I'm STILL not done! Sheesh! Siblings gotta stop popping out kids I say. haha.

I think gift cards and online shopping are sounding better and better. My legs, back and feet can hardly stand shopping for any length of time anymore.

We have 2 as well, but only celebrate the church ceremony one. We had the civil b/c of getting my Canuck hubby's visa (just easier.. long story) then the religious one almost a year later. So yeah. We just had our 6 yr anniversary, but we've been married 7. haha. (And together 12 at the end of this month!!! Time flies!)

Happy Anniversary! What a busy month! Fall is always such a busy time for me, and I HATE holiday shopping. Luckily, this year we are flat broke with no more credit, so there won't be much shopping. I'm always looking on the bright side, ha ha!
