"Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. " -Helen Keller

My favorite time of the month is back.

Yup, it's ICLW time again. Last month, I sucked at ICLW. A dear friend's mother had a sudden and precipitous decline in her health and worrying about my friend Kristi and her mom deep-sixed my motivation. Barring disaster, I plan on getting back on track and actually reaching Iron Commenter status again.

The past few months, I've used the ABC's of me as my ICLW intro. However, I am not feeling nearly that organized. So, here are some random thought...

*I am in the throes of a major case of BlogHer envy. I desperately want to go. I desperately want to meet all my favorite bloggers.

*I am hopeless when it comes to resisting scrumptious piles of yarn or yards of gorgeous fabric.

*I am certifiably insane when it comes to crafting. I have never looked at a craft and said there is no way I can do that. I taught myself hardanger and quilting and I intend to teach myself to knit next.

*I really, really want one more baby but events have been conspiring against it (hubby's diabetes going all wonky this year and his surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome).

*I take an INSANE number of pictures. This was true even in the pre-digital era.

*I love, love, love planning secret projects and big surprises. Use the email link in the right column(under my pic) to find out all about it.

*I can talk for hours and hours and hours. My friends Rys, Kristi, Pam, and many others can testify to that (um, errr, *cough*cough* a 5 hour phone conversation once)

*You can read about my infertility/family building history here.

*Believe it or not, in a land far, far away and a time long ago, I use to be quiet, somewhat shy, and not very confident. I am very glad those days are gone (mostly).

Anyone have any questions for me? I'll answer anything.

edited to add - I made it through # 40 on the ICLW list. However, 14 of the first 40 blogs are already on my blogroll so that's not as impressive as it sounds. Hi, my name is Kristin and I am a blog addict.

Not a question, really. More, a statement. I canNOT believe you were ever quiet and shy and not very confident. You are such a strong, amazing personality! Congrats on climbing out of your shell.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and sharing some interesting tidbits on yourself. I suspect that given my tendency to talk as well, if we were stuck in a room together, we might never leave!

I keep my craft supplies near me like a security blanket. There is just something about a collection of possibilities that gives me comfort...

There is nothing wrong with being a blog addict! I think I became an over achiever and that was my downfall. now there is just no way to keep up. Argh, the guilt, the GUILT!!!

Very cool list of random thing. I like these kinds of posts. And the A-Z posts are just too damned long, so a list of under ten things is much easier for a girl like me to read. (not that I can't read, just that I have add. which is funny since I go on and on and on when commenting and blogging!)

I just read your IF history. I didn't realize you had such a problem with RPL. I'm so sorry Kristin. ~hugs~

I have blogher envy too.

I want to know about your secret project!

Thanks for visiting my blog. I'm glad to have found yours!

I have always wished I were crafty but my mom's creativity gene seems to have missed me. ;-)

hello,

Saw your link on Sharon's blog and just wanted to pop in and say hi. To some extend I'm a blog addict too, although at one point was "worse" than I am now :-)

I love crafts too, but not much time at the moment. I will be sifting through some of the photos I took during my daughter's cancer treatment the last 2 years and attempt to make some kind of photo collage art work type of creation for the wall. Quite daunting as I don't actually know what I want it to look like and so many photos to go through :-). But I'm sure once I start it will just happen as it should :-)

I've only ever made one quilt, and nothing like the formal kind of ways you make a quilt. But it was a memory quilt and I had a great time making it. Will have to try this again at some point.

Yarn?! What's your favorite? Brand or fiber. I love banana fiber. Hi, my name is Lisa, and I'm a yarn whore.

Happy ICLW!

I'm not sure how many I've made it through yet. I'm going through my reader and a lot of those are on the ICLW list, as well.

Good work on your list! Every month, well just about every post, I find out something new about you. I love it!

I can't imagine a quiet shy you either! Good luck with Iron Commentor status, I'm not even going to try because I know the minimum per day will be tough enough as it is! :)

Thanks for being the wonderful supportive person you are. I always appreciate your comments.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and asking about the progesterone! I came over and read your infertility history since our levels were so similar....and I am so very sorry for all of your losses. :( And yes, I do have progesterone supps in my fridge that I am hoping to use this cycle. I am hoping it stops my spotting, at least.
