"Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. " -Helen Keller

The Cost of Camp...

  1. Registrations fees
  2. a set of sheets because someone (ummmm, Marty) forgot his sleeping bag
  3. 2 pillow cases because someone (ummmm, Marty) completely forgot to take them off the pillows when he packed his stuff
  4. 1 set of glasses sacrificed to the ocean gods when someone (ummmm, Marty) got tired of not being able to see when swimming
  5. 760 miles = about 13 hours of driving
But, the kids had an absolutely FABULOUS time and are desperate to go again next year. Marty came back with an incredible tan (it is soooooo not fair that my sons all tan better than I do). I think Marty liked the odds at beach camp. There were 3 boys and 9 girls...LOL. Hehehe, in fact, I think he's chatting with one of the girls from camp right now.

My only 2 requirements for next year are a safety strap for Marty's glasses so we don't have to replace them again next year and make sure the boys camps are on different weeks to minimize back and forth driving during the week.

The older they get, I'd say be thinking about non-co-ed camps, too! We don't want any little extras running around! I went to church camp, I know! Think "And this one time, at band camp...."

You have been a busy woman! The boys will appreciate all that you did for them years down the road.

Sounds like they had fun, but yes different weeks would be nice!

Glad that 13 hour drive was well worth it. Ah, I wish I could have gone to camp as a child...

Wow, sounds busy. I remember in the 5th grade I broke my glasses like 4 times. My parents weren't excited.
