The first person I want to say thank you to is getupgrrl, the retired and truly missed author of Chez Misscarriage. Grrl had a smart, funny, and extremely open style of writing. She actually made me laugh about things related to infertility...something I thought would never happen. I was able to see how much support Grrl got through her blog and, with her encouragement, I started my little blog back in October of 2004.
After I finally beat my particular brand of infertility (Gabe was born in December '05), my blog went dormant with only infrequent posts until August of '08. I was still reading a lot of blogs but, due to things going on in my life, I rarely wrote. Then I stumbled across a Barren Bitches Book Brigade post (tour #3, The Time Traveler's Wife) and that led me back to Mel's blog. Now, I had heard of the infamous Stirrup Queen but I had never really spent any time there. I figured she had so many followers and so many commenters that I would feel out of place. I couldn't have been more wrong. I got sucked in my Mel's warmth and humor and boundless energy and I decided I had to be a part of it. I don't even remember what I started doing first but, I got pulled back into blogging full force and I love it. So, Mel, in addition to thanks and kudos for all you do for this community, I want to send you a personal thank you from me. I wouldn't be the blogger I am today if it wasn't for you.

I also am very overdue in sending out thanks and bloggy love to the dear Lettie over at Polka Dot Pineapple. I got to meet Lettie when she and her husband were in North Carolina. I had a wonderful lunch and an hour+ conversation with her before we both had to head out. Lettie sent me a wonderful package of goodies from Hawaii (the lucky lady lives there) last month and I wanted to thank her.The second picture shows the lovely Hawaiian print fabric (hmmmm, what quilt to use it in), a doughnut pin cushion, a cute purple yo-yo key chain, and a mug rug (basically a small quilted coaster). I'm not sure what I did to warrant all these goodies but THANK YOU Lettie.Oh, all you crafty knitters and crocheters, Lettie has a wonderful tutorial that teaches you how to make t-shirt yarn along with many other cool crafty tutorials. Go check it out.

Wah Hoo! I won somethin'!
Very cool... thank you Kristin!
Hi Kristin,
It seems that today I'm able to get into your blog without the dreaded warning that my computer usually gives off. Hope it remains this way. I wanted to thank you for the pictures you forwarded to me. I'll always treasure it. Again, thank you for your kindness. You were such a pleasure to chat with. Hope we can do it again sometime.
Aloha!
You, my friend, are pure love. You radiate it, you draw it to you, and you create it.
I started blogging before reading other blogs....even when I carved out another IF blog, it was a me thing.
But when I did start hunting for people in the same boat, Mel's was the first blog I came across, and the other was Wracked by Faith...who had the same tongue as me...
Congrats to the winners of your book challenge!
Darn! If only you lived in Houston I would happily give you some aloe!
All this cool stuff going on wow, i hope I can join in. Crafty though you know I am not.
I started my blog before I actually understood what a blog was. But your post has got to thinking about doing something cool. Stay tuned.....
I started blogging on the old yahoo 360! At first it was just to keep the grandparents updated with the antics of their grandkids. Then I found that I had other things I wanted to talk about - particularly since I knew my childbearing years were coming to a close and still needing to come to terms with the struggles and loss. Writing about it just seemed natural - since I am a very verbal person. Since I had to move my 360 over to blogger when they shut it down, I just set up a second blog there for the infertility/loss side. I waffle sometimes about merging the two - life and loss; but for now - they will stay two blogs. The first blog I really came across was A Little Pregnant - years back when Julie was expecting her first baby. I was completely hooked. Though - it really wasn't what spurred me to blog, as I didn't start my own for a couple years and hadn't kept up with any other blogs.
Thanks so much Kristin! My blog inspiration was Phantom Scribbler. She rarely updates these days but when she does it is usually thought provoking. Thanks again.
