"Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. " -Helen Keller

Never A Dull Moment

Today has been an interesting day. We've made two abortive attempts to go to the pool. Every time we have been about ready to go to the pool, one of the widely scattered only 30% chance of rain thunderstorms has hit. Booooo hiss.

And, my wild child has yet another self inflicted accidental injury. Gabe had dumped his jumbo magnetic letters all over the living room. Of course, I told him to pick them up and, of course, he couldn't do it normally. Instead of calmly bending over and picking up each letter, he was bouncing around the room and jumping at the letters. It was all good until he misjudged the distance and slipped and his face and the coffee table had a chance encounter. His right eyelid is puffy and red. I wonder if he'll look better or worse tomorrow. (click on the pics to see a bigger version)
And, to cap it all off, one of the older two kids went out to get something off of the tree fort. The stairs were wet and a bit slippery and he slipped and fell off the stairs. That was bad enough as it left him sore but what made it worse was his right arm ended up in dog poop. Ewwwwwww.

So, did anything interesting happen to you today?

Poor kiddo! Sadly, I think I am in store for this since my 16 month old never does anything at a moderate pace, only 100 mph.

And what an insult added to injury with dog poop on the landing. Gah!

Sounds like a day in my house! Poor Gabe! Hope his shiner goes away soon. Did he scream his little head off?

Zilla was eating pizza rolls and AFTER I told him it was hot and to wait a bit before popping one in his mouth. Of course he didn't listen and burned his mouth, so he spit it out ONTO HIS HAND and it burned his hand *sigh* He screamed and cried and once he calmed down, I asked him "what lesson did we learn today Zilla?" Here's hoping he remembers to LISTEN TO HIS MOMMA!

Hope everyone is feeling better and tomorrow is a better day.

I made my entire class of undergraduates remain standing for 10 minutes straight. Does that sound interesting?

Ouch Gabe...that has got to hurt...a lot...and stay painful for atleast the next few days.

And ouch for the other boy too...these kind of injuries are really painful.

Kristin: Thank You.

Is this his first black eye? I know that my time is coming. My toddler has some skinned up knees and bruises all over her legs from all the tripping, running, and jumping she insists on doing.
