"Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. " -Helen Keller

Hey y'all...

Nothing really deep and insightful to post today. Its my beautiful niece Kayla's 12th birthday today and the boys and I drove done to my parents' house to help her celebrate. Vic stayed home because he had to go in and get the stitches removed from his carpal tunnel surgery. We all went out to the pool on the Air Force Base to swim and then we came back to my parents' house for cake and ice cream. We capped the day off with grilled burgers and dogs, watermelon, carrot and beans with dip, and corn...YUM! A little while ago, the kids all settled in to watch Marley and Me as they drift off to sleep. Right now it is blissfully quiet and I am enjoying a little me time before I go to bed.

One a totally different topic, I may actually get to go to BlogHer next year. I was joking around about running away to Chicago this weekend and, when I told my mom why, she said they could give me a significant chunk of the cost of BlogHer as a birthday present. I have the world's best parents.

Mom and Dad, you totally ROCK!

Oops, I may have spoken too soon about the quiet. I hear a lot of giggling from the next room. Guess we hit a funny part of the movie.

Have a wonderful evening/night/weekend y'all!

I loved Marley and Me, though I can't finish the book (or movie) without bursting into tears at the end.

Happy Belated Birthday to Kayla! :)
