A dear friend of mine is about halfway done with med school. Currently, he is doing his OB rotation. I decided that even if it wasn't going to be his specialty, he needed to know and understand all the ins and outs of infertility. I think I managed to shock him with the level of knowledge I possess in this area and I definitely know I shocked him with the comments about the wand monkey. I swear I could hear him blushing across the phone lines. I think I'll consider this little foray into education my good deed for the month.

My sister is a pediatrician and I'm shocked at how little she knows about infertility. I had to tell her what IVF was - she didn't know.
You go, girl.
One of my sisters in law is a doctor and another one is a med student and they both get shocked at how much I know about infertility and molar pregnancy. It's funny actually!
Well done!!! Keep them coming! I think reading your blogs and being quizzed on them should be mandatory. And Suz, where had she been hiding???
I keep telling DH that he should go into RE (since we've got first hand experience), but then I come to my senses and remember that the last thing I want to do is go through 4 more years of residency hell with him. It's a truly long haul.
You know what I'd like to see? RE's that advertise their first hand experience with infertility. I WOULD LOVE to have an RE with first hand experience!
You know what else I'd like to see? RE's have to take (they may have to, but I HIGHLY doubt it) "infertile psychology" courses. I really don't think most RE's have a clue as to what we go through. Do you?
Ha! Excellent work, on behalf of us all! :)
