Homemade Girl Scout cookies...

LittleBirdhouse stopped by my blog and, when I went to check her blog out, I found a post about her making homemade Samoa Bars and Tagalongs. With the exception of Thin Mints, those are two of my favorite Girl Scout cookies. LittleBirdhouse found the recipes for these homemage versions of Girl Scout cookies on a blog called Baking Bites. In addition to the Samoa Bars and Tagalongs, Baking Bites also has recipes for Do-Si-Dos, Thin Mints, and regular Samoas. Who wants to joing me in a Girl Scout cookie bake along sometime in the next few months?

And, check out this fantabulous giveaway over at Trying Our Best. Those bags are perfect for crafters and parents alike.

Ooooh I'd be all over this except I have an egg free kiddo in the house. I really love the tagalongs, those are the ones with the PB in them I think. MMMMMMMMMMMMm but on top of the egg free our house is peanut free too! there is no winning when it comes to GS cookies!

thanks for the plug, good luck ; )

Mmmm those sounds good! I looked at the recipe for the do-si-dos and I think I can do it! I actually all but the oatmeal in my house right now. What are your plans to do with the cookies after we have the back off? Are we going to post pictures on our blogs? That'd be fun!

Those Samoas should have crack listed in their ingredients. God, I will scale the wall, and have done it recently, all in search of them. (The hubby hid (stole) them from me.

Wow, thanks for the link :D I'd definitely be happy to bake the cookies again, maybe Thin Mints next time for DH.

The Mrs., the dough for the Tagalongs base is egg-free, and you could maybe substitute another topping for them -- maybe the Samoas topping, or they'd be good with marzipan or a fruit jelly or something. Mmm.
